Visible landmarks include the Stone Arch Bridge, the Guthrie Theatre, the Metrodome, Nicollet Island, and the northernmost lock and dam on the Mississippi River.

The large building at the base of the bridge on the right is the Minneapolis Post Office, and is on the site of the first permanent white dwelling on this side of the river.
